Flooding in the Mississippi Delta has raised water levels almost two feet and now the once unreachable corners of the bayou are accessible. As the gator season enters the home stretch, swampers are forced to work overtime to protect their livelihoods, defend their turf, and make every dollar they can. Today is the first day of shrimping season, and Joe and Tommy are intent on pulling a double shift on the swamp: gator hunting in the morning and shrimping in the afternoon.
Liz and Kristi are also on a mission to protect Kristi's livelihood. When she isn't hunting gator, she's wrangling cattle at the ranch her family owns. Yesterday, Kristi's grandfather reported a menacing gator that's threatening cattle. The swampers are facing the toughest stretch. Worn down, the best spots have already been fished, and one unexpected turn can sink the season. In Pecan Island, Liz and Kristi start slow. Liz's hands have taken a beating. With only 5 days left in the season, the swamp is blindsided by a cold front sweeping across Louisiana, bringing a punishing frigid rain.
When temperatures drop, gators run for cover, and the hunters will have to chase them down. It's down to the final 4 days and Troy's road to the crown takes an unexpected turn. A good friend and fellow hunter has passed away.
When his long-time helper asks Troy to help fill their remaining tags, Troy has a dilemma. Troy is in a tough situation. After a fellow hunter passed away, Troy agreed to help fill his tags for the community, putting Troy's on hold.
It's the home stretch and swampers have the finish line in sight. Joe and Tommy are in a good position. At the end of the season, Joe usually hunts a reliable honey hole to get him across the finish line. As the last day of the month-long alligator season dawns, the moment of truth arrives. Today is about one thing: tagging out before the season ends at sundown. Please continue to extol the virtues of hard work and honesty..
The original characters of the first couple of seasons were the best. However, the arrogance of some cast members Moliniers and Edgars would not be missed. Lassez bon temps rouler! This show is what started my interest to visit Louisiana every year for the past 6 years. This show is great for tourism. A good family show.. We were sorry to hear of Glens brother's death Love Willie. Would love to taste some Swamp People cook in.. Sitting down to watch is like looking at a way of life at it's best.
The parti[censored]tes are like my swamp family if I had one. Please don't depry me and other fans of another season. The best of History Channel. While battling stage 4 cancer and during hospitalizations during the past 4 years I have never missed an episode!
I sure miss Liz and her family though! My husband and I have never missed a show and watch all the reruns too. We enjoyed seeing some of the older cast also. Not too crazy about the elder Edgar or RJ and JPaul, but the change in cast doesn't stop us from watching every episode.
Goes without saying that Troy and the boys are our favorites, and Willie is one tough guy. We are hoping that Season 10 is on the way. There are not many shows we enjoy any more as most television shows are not worth watching, so please keep Swamp People coming for all of their die-hard fans. Troy sure but man Willie is a tough dude and [censored]ody throws a hookline like Willie, period.
I'm on Season 7 right now. It appears that Jeromy and David have been cut and Liz too. These were my favorite swamp people. Jeromy and David always left me smiling. Watching Liz and her daughter was heart warming. From what I'm reading in the comments on here it sounds like I have a lot of changes to adjust to with Swamp People 8 and 9. I heard Bruce say that the buyers wanted more fresh meat.
I know one old guy can't do all that work alone, but they could hire him some help. I like Frenchy and G, and Willie and hope they can get into the action. And there are several others that could be back on that. Hope to see some of them included. I enjoy the Original cast members from the very beginning and now the show has drifted off to another area.
J Paul and RJ , we can do without them. They are very arrogant. Once you introduced the Edgars, the show started going down hill from there. Willie is at top of the list along with Troy and boys. Chase just needs to be more responsible that is all. He isn't the bad just lazy!!!
I love it when you show Glen and Liz's two sons. Very special Keep up the good work. Let Season 10 be renewed. Well worth the wait!!!!! Be smart and bring them back. It's given them all such better dispositions. Trot was becoming a regular sour puss and Dan was hard to watch, but they are actually having fun now.
What happened? And they are so plentiful again! Was it the weather this year, or did a couple of slow seasons allow the little ones to grow up? People have talked about bringing back Junior Evans but I got tired of all his crying.
I hope they are doing all right though. At least he ain't shooting poor Willie no more. Thanks for the replies and you all have a good summer.
God bless. What's up with the. Landry family? Did Chase [censored] the rest of them? I don't care what role they're playing, and I now know they are being paid to act,not necessarily for their swamping ability, but they shouldn't Punish Jake since he was trying to do what he was supposed to.
Please get off the Edgars! They are very instructional if you can get past their family dram a. It's more of a delivery problem, because don't you think Troy isn't just as hard on his boys as Daniel?! How soon we forget. Troy chewed Jake's ass like a tough steak one season.
He needs to do the same to Chase, only a lot more. I'm not a fan of the cartel. For one, what have they done to help their cause? Troy as Don Vito was just precious! But Jake should've been by his side as his Michael. Please continue this show, but bring back the real aspects of it, and give Don Troy the kiss of death.
Characters from the early show made the show please bring them back! I feel sorry for his two sons. Our favorite is Willie!
He's the strongest, toughest one of all and he has a humble personality. Please remove the narrator! It's awful! Best Narrator Ever! PAT is 1? Daddy Edgar, omg I switch channels when he is talking. Miss Liz and Glen, too. We especially liked Willie and Junior.
The Edgar's are at times like watching a soap opera. Too much of the wrong kind of drama!!! The original characters were the best!! Was disappointed when the cast began to change every year. Please consider bringing some of the old timers back Especially Willie and Junior!!! Thanks for keeping Troy and family.
They're the backbone of the show. In fact, Willie is the Swamp King. He didn't even need any help. The man did it all. I am so happy to know I'll be watching Swamp People next week.
