No uniquely identifying information is ever sent. None of your Facebook settings or data is ever changed by Social Fixer. It does not update your personal information, or your status, or your friends lists, or any other information about you or in your account. It only processes information - it never changes it. Some other Facebook scripts do insert these things, and their actions are sometimes incorrectly attributed to Social Fixer.
Some add-ons that are known to cause problems are: SocialPlus! First, understand that Facebook often has glitches and problems on its own. Many problems that users think are caused by SFX are actually just Facebook screwing up.
To check, you can always disable SFX and see if the problem persists. You can also view Facebook's Known Problems page on Facebook to see if they are reporting any problems at the moment.

Posted by: jacksonbear 02 Sep I was on FB 2 differnet times and got off. Don't like the security. I know I got a trojan both times. But the last straw was when they said my 15 character password, made by a randon password generator, was insecure.
I changed it to "JaCk10" without the quotes ,and they said that was great. I set it as my new password; logged out; did something else for 15 minutes; logged back in with the new password; and canceled the account. That was more than 5 years ago. I occasionally wish I had a FB account, but I have more time to do other things and waste less time. I do not like their security methods. I don't really miss it! Posted by: gtodon 02 Sep I second a previous commenter's enthusiasm for FB Purity.
I used Social Fixer for years, and I sympathized with its developer's travails in trying to keep up with Facebook's frequent code changes, but in the end I needed something that simply worked. Social Fixer rarely did. It was broken for more than a year, despite repeated promises that it would be fixed any day now. And for Firefox users it's still broken, as the new version sits far down in the Firefox approval queue.
FB Purity, on the other hand, simply works. All the time. And while it doesn't do all of the things Social Fixer does, it does other things that SF doesn't do. I've thought about trying SF again, but then I realize it's just a question of time before it's broken yet again. Meanwhile, FB Purity is reliable, month in and month out.
Never a problem. Posted by: Therrito 02 Sep Posted by: Jay R 03 Sep More new stuff! It's like being a kid again, with all the aches and pains of old age. Bring me a beer, Wrench!
Where did Nurse Ratchet go, anyway? I'm going to have to check this out. Thanx, Bob, and everyone else who contributed here to my new database! Posted by: pshaw 03 Sep Tried to download. Got message that the new version for Firefox users hasn't yet met Mozilla's approval or something like that.
Will you alert us when ready? Posted by: Bela 03 Sep The feature which makes Enter create a line break is not yet implemented in SFx
